At Eventbrite, we’re passionate about bringing people together around live experiences, no matter what shape or size. So we’re building technology that powers international film festivals, air guitar competitions, marathons and everything in between. Since 2006, we've sold more than 200M tickets in 180 countries and processed over $2B in ticket sales.

Python and Django powers almost everything at Eventbrite-- our website, mobile app backends, public APIs, internal tooling and more, and we're committed to releasing open-source packages so others can benefit and contribute to our work. Whether you're looking for a grand scaling challenge, trying to improve user experience and performance, building tools to help other developers, investigating how to support the future of mobile ticketing, or simply want to help build a great product and transform an entire industry, we'd love to talk to you.

Think back to the last time you organized an event - maybe it was a tech meetup, perhaps a small conference or even a large performance. Whatever the event, it’s pretty likely that you had a lot to deal with and were possibly stressed about it.

At Eventbrite, we are building technology to effortlessly create, manage, discover and attend live events. We are growing rapidly and are looking for rock star engineers to help us architect, build and mature our engineering capabilities.

The Eventbrite 'Seamless Event Management' team is solving complex engineering challenges across the entire product stack. We are refactoring and redesigning many parts of the Eventbrite stack to scale with our explosive growth. As a backend engineer on this exciting team, you will be directly responsible for shaping critical parts of our product. You will be helping us design and improve our reporting systems, payout infrastructure, onsite tools used to check people in and many other crucial ecosystem tools.

If you are interested in being part of fast moving web development projects that involve refactoring, redesigning and scaling, then read on.

You Bring:

  • Solid web application development experience in Python and MySQL using frameworks such as Django or Pyramid
  • Experience designing REST APIs and web architectures for consumer web products
  • Broad but non-trivial knowledge of SQL, NoSQL and NewSQL technologies
  • Ninja like CS skills with strong exposure to data structures, software design and OOP
  • A strong track record of working with design, product and engineering to lead complex backend projects to completion
  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field (e.g. CS, Engineering or Mathematics)

Bonus Points:

  • Knowledge of front end technologies including Javascript, CSS and HTML5
  • Prior experience with Django or SQLAlchemy like ORMs
  • Database design and SQL query optimization experience
  • You are a self-managed, high-energy, passionate, positive individual
  • You love working in a fast paced environment and like short, directed projects
  • You are meticulous, detail oriented and take pride in project ownership
