Senior Full-Stack Developer and Technology Leader

LifePosts is looking for a full-stack developer with particular fluency in Python/Django developer (3+ years experience) to be our lead technologist. Our stack is Django/Python, Postgresql and Celery, running on Heroku. An ideal candidate will have proficiency both with the back end code as well as HTML/JS/CSS.

LifePosts is a fast-moving early-stage startup, so you should be comfortable working independently, and interacting directly with business stakeholders and project managers. Sense of humor and unflusterable temperament would be a big plus.

LifePosts is a platform enabling people to celebrate and remember the most important people and moments in their lives, via online memorials and other commemorations.

The job may be full time or part-time depending on the skill set of the developer.

The team is led by entrepreneur/journalist Steven Waldman, founder of Beliefnet.com, which won the national magazine award for best website before being acquired by News Corp; and COO Ju-Don Marshall Roberts, who has led the digital operations for the WashingtonPost.com, EverydayHealth.com and Beliefnet.com, and Center for Community .

The company is funded by an elite group of angel investors including Jon Miller, former CEO of News Corp Digital; Lauren Zalaznick, former Executive Vice President of NBCUniversal; Julius Genachowski, former Chairman of the Federal Communications Commission; and American Public Media, the largest owner of public radio stations.

Equity is included in the compensation package, and there are opportunities to grow into a major leadership role.

The company is based in Brooklyn but there is some flexibility on location.
